Kaylee joined ECHO Colorado in October 2018 as a part-time project associateāa job that will transition to full-time project coordinator following her graduation from Colorado School of Public Health in May 2019, when she will earn her masterās in public health with concentration in community and behavioral health. She holds a bachelorās degree from University of Colorado Boulder with a double major in integrative physiology and ethnic studies. Kaylee is a Student Leader in Public Health awardee, a scholarship offered by the Rocky Mountain Public Health Training Center (RMPHTC) to assist with public health field placement and faculty-student collaborative projects with the goal of enhancing the public health workforce in the Rocky Mountain region.
Kaylee was looking for a way to expand her skill set and ECHO Colorado represented the opportunity to work in many areas of public health. Virtual collaboration presented a new, interesting way to gain new experience. She enjoys interacting with people in a variety of areas who are affected by public health topics. Her career goals include creating collaborative solutions that move underserved communities towards greater health equity.
Born in New York City, Kaylee and her family moved to southwest Denver when she was in middle school. She spends most of her free time with her parents, who are from Mexico, which allows her to enjoy and expand her cultural roots.
