The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has described
oral health disparities in the United States as “profound.”

With dental caries as the most common chronic disease in childhood and adolescence, preventative practices and proper treatment are critical to establish and maintain oral health to span through adulthood. This series aims to support dental hygienists in increasing knowledge around treatments for dental caries, communication strategies, and the public health approach to preventing and managing caries.

This series is offered in partnership with the Oral Health Unit of the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment, the Colorado Community Health Network, and ECHO Colorado.
