Up to 11% of children and 28% of adolescents have
reoccurring headaches

Understanding and supporting the needs of children with chronic neurological conditions presents many challenges for school nurses. Having the confidence to appropriately manage these conditions requires additional learning and access to resources to ensure these students can thrive in their education. 

Offered in partnership with the Children's Hospital Colorado School Health Program, this series supports building capacity for school nurses to help students with a neurological condition (i.e., seizures, non-epileptic events or headaches) participate and learn to their full potential.

SCHOOL NURSES MANAGING NEUROLOGICAL CONDITIONS

Audience:
School Nurses working in Colorado and managing the care of one or more students with a neurological condition (i.e., seizures, non-epileptic events or headaches)

Commitment:
Four weekly ECHO sessions held virtually

NCPD:
 Professional development credits are offered in conjunction with Children’s Hospital Colorado. Children's Hospital Colorado is approved as a provider of Nursing Continuing Professional Development (NCPD) by Colorado Nurses Association, an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center's Commission on Accreditation. NCPD credits are contingent upon registration, attendance of at least three of the four sessions, and submission of all evaluation surveys. Claim only those hours you attend.
