Rural and frontier communities require different strategies
than urban settings to advance healthy equity

Rural and frontier public health leaders can adapt health equity concepts and frameworks to address their specific challenges and advance health equity in their communities.  This series will explore why equity is becoming the guiding public health framework, and how conditions in rural and frontier communities require different strategies than urban local public health agencies (LPHAs) to advance equity.  

This series is brought to you in partnership by the Colorado Association of Local Public Health Officials (CALPHO), Extension for Community Health Outcomes (ECHO) Colorado, and the Rocky Mountain Public Health Training Center (RMPHTC). Participants will explore strategies and tools for integrating equity into their current services, partnerships, operations, and community engagement activities. LPHA Directors can enhance the effectiveness of their work by learning how to engage their communities and form partnerships that will address upstream determinants of health inequities. Over the course of five, free live sessions, LPHA Directors will learn and share relevant health equity approaches with experts and peers that address specific needs in rural/frontier communities.
